Will the e-liquid tax rate be too high?

When it comes to high taxes, you may think of cigarettes, which are probably the products with the highest taxes in the world. As a competitor of cigarettes, the tax of vape is collected at the tax rate of ordinary products, which is very dissatisfied with tobacco companies. How is vape taxed? As a smoking set, vape is an electronic product with a relatively long lifespan. It seems unreasonable to tax only vape, so the tax on vape is more likely to be aimed at e-liquid.

China's e-liquid tax is still collected according to the tax rate of ordinary products. As for whether the e-liquid tax will be raised in the future, it mainly depends on whether there are changes in the policy. The vape products currently sold in China are mainly two types, one is rechargeable vape, and the other is disposable vape. These are all for micro vape. The previous high-power and high-vapor vape has been eliminated, because now the domestic e-liquid Manufacturers can only sell e-liquid to vape manufacturers when selling domestically, and cannot sell individually packaged e-liquid products to ordinary merchants and users.

Therefore, the tax rate of e-liquid in China is relatively low. Judging from the trend, the tax rate of e-liquid should not increase in the future. Different foreign policies will lead to a big difference in the tax rate of e-liquid.

Regarding vape policies, in large countries, such as the United States, the policies for vape are gradually implemented, and there will be a long buffer period before implementation, but it is different in small countries, and their policies will come faster and even faster. Faster. Without any warning, the Bahrain government suddenly announced the implementation of 100% high tax on electronic e-liquid, and this behavior also made all the vape industries in Bahrain very dissatisfied. After Indonesia’s 57% heavy tax, Bahrain’s e-liquid tax percentage has hit a new high, which really shocked the vape industry. Even if the policy is not our own country, this can be a reference, and our own country may launch such a product in the future policy.

Sayed Al Wadei, head of VapeWorld, a vape operator in Bahrain, accused that "it is meaningless to levy 100% tax on e-liquid compared to tobacco products." Imagine the huge tax they now have to pay for each shipment.

At the same time, vape operators and users said that electronic e-liquid does not contain tobacco ingredients, and it is unreasonable to tax electronic e-liquid by comparing 100% of cigarette tax, and such a high price may cause vape users to return to traditional cigarettes !

Another company, Mohamed Ahmed, the person in charge of Juffair Vape Bahrain, said that "the government currently collects taxes based on the size of the bottle, and the amount is: 60ml bottle $16, 100ml bottle $22, 120ml bottle $26", and Stores will sell these e-liquids at twice the price.
